Renowned for its expertise in hair and beauty, Elaje has also increased its portfolio of services.
In addition, the boutique has also brought a little bit of Harley Street to the city, with London based Melior, working from the salon on selected days, offering a range of non-invasive cosmetic treatments.
With new members of the team (and recruiting again), 2 new beauty rooms, and a range of new hair and beauty services and products – Elaje is proving a force to be reckoned with, and owner Julia Gaudio, is already busy planning her next venture.

Sarah-Jane has been appointed by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors to manage PR for 6 months, during an employee secondment. Targeted with high target coverage figures across the East of England and the East Midlands, and the responsibility of producing regional newsletters, S-J is already enjoying a number of success stories.
S-J will be taking part in the very first Big Walk – organised by Alzheimers Research on Sunday 22 May. This is Challenge 2 of her Sporty after 40 initiative.

A new initiative, launched by SJPR’s Sarah-Jane, is generating enormous interest.
S-J, and she won’t mind us announcing this, is 40 in March, and she decided to embark on another fundraising initiative in memory of her dear mum. Sarah-Jane lost her mum to Alzheimers in November 2010, and she remains dedicated to the cause – raising awareness and money for the charity.
S-J invited friends, clients and work colleagues to ‘challenge’ her… and what started out as a small idea, has developed into something with enormous potential.
Challenges include: marathon running, sky diving, mountain climbing, car racing, weightlifting – through to beer drinking, belly dancing, pole dancing and karaoke endurance…
S-J is busy recruiting willing volunteers, and company sponsorships/involvement to make the challenges happen.

This is S-J’s third marathon, and she’s raised almost £7K in total for the charity which is very close to her heart. S-J’s mum was diagnosed in 2003, and is now being cared for in a residential home.
She plans to run 2 marathon’s next year in a bid to reach her target of £10K, and will also be organising a number of other fund raising initiatives.

The management team at The Cambridge Toy Shop has appointed Ideas by Eden and SJPR, design and pr/marketing agencies respectively, to create and implement a marketing campaign in the lead up to Christmas.
‘We were particularly impressed by the joint approach taken by both businesses, and their focus on evaluation, objectives and expected results. In addition to specific promotions and new ideas, we need our website to work better for us, an advertising campaign to raise awareness, and a customer focussed initiative too’ said joint business owner Belinda Jones. ‘We had a set budget to spend, so it was important to understand the campaign and its breakdown of activities and how they will all work for the business, and complement each other’.
‘We are delighted to be working with The Toy Shop’ explains Christian Scott, founder of Ideas by Eden, and to have the opportunity to work on and enhance the brand. The Toy Shop is well established in Cambridge, and we recognise the many exciting opportunities that will be possible when the business is supported by a good marketing campaign. We have reacted quickly by implementing a functional holding page to capture details of visitors to use for future marketing.’
This is the most recent piece of work won by the Ideas by Eden and SJPR partnership. Companies are benefitting from the combined disciplines, and enjoying the successes brought by the varied experience and expertise of both companies. Other joint appointments have included Elaje Hair and Beauty, Cambridge University Rugby Union Football Club and HSi Building Services, and previously included Funky Funhouse and CBS Communications.
